Where are the culverts out at? How much farther will I have to walk in if I go in this way? I'm planning a hike the 2nd weekend of June so it would be nice to know?

N 45 31.059 - W065 16 409 Is the location of the first one... Just enough room to foolishly drive your vehicle over. If you try and don't succeed you will be stuck in a 5 foot hole... Don't try it.

IF YOU ARE FOLLOWING THE CENTRAL ACCESS DIRECTIONS TO DUSTIN BROOK,TAKE NOTE THAT WHEN LOOKING FOR THE 3RD ROAD(WHICH IS THE ACCESS ROAD TO DUSTIN BROOK),THE 1ST ROAD IS VERY EASY TO MISS. IT IS IMMEDIATELY AFTER CROSSING THE WOODEN BRIDGE AND LOOKS MORE LIKE AN UNTRAVELLED,GRASS-GROWN PATH.THE DUSTIN BROOK ROAD DOES HAVE A YELLOW SIGN POSTED ON A TREE THAT IS IN OFF OF THE ROAD-LOOK CAREFULLY! IF YOU HAPPEN TO OVERSHOOT YOUR ROADS YOU ARE IN FOR A LONG HIKE..... RE THE FALLING IN CULVERTS,THE 1ST ONE IS QUITE PASSABLE WITH A VEHICLE,WHILE THE 2ND IS A HUGE RISK!! IT WILL TAKE APPROX 1/2 HOUR TO HIKE IN TO THE ACCESS TRAIL FROM HERE.

The culverts on the Little Salmon Dustin Brook access trail are still out as of May 27th. We will post a notification when it is repaired.

Thanks for the info guys. I knew where the access road was but since I was considering a late night Friday entry into the trail I wanted to know when I could get to the campsite at Dustin Brook. I have now altered my plans and will leave from Big Salmon Friday morning and stay at Seeley that night.
Will let everyone know of trail conditions. We will be attempting a light maintenance of the Telegraph bk to Martin Head section. Mainly just noting blaze conditions, brush and litter removal.
Cheers

Still no repairs yet Maybe we can get JDI's road construction gear to come over and fix it. They were in the area last week and might still be near.

Is that where theyve been turning construction for months?? The road surface is all torn up and plays havoc on the suspension

Hey, Any updates on the road conditions, plowed/not plowed, for access to little salmon river and walton glen canyon? Last year they plowed most of the way down there. But not sure if they are this year.
Any updates on whether the little salmon or walton glen brook are frozen enough for walking?
Thanks, Graham

The Wood road from Cross Rd to Little Salmon River is totally impassible at about km 2. This is due to a major washout last fall . There are also 2 wash outs at about km 7 . Looks like vehicle access to Dustin Brook will not be open until these wood roads are repaired .

Has anyone tried using the McCumber brook access? I've gone there 5 times this summer and had no issues. Almost made it all the way in my Jetta TDI.
